Asher Wiederkehr, DPM, is a skilled podiatrist practicing at New York Specialty Clinics, which has many convenient locations inAstoria, Queens and Sheepshead Bay, Midwood, and Marine Park/Flatlands of Brooklyn. He was drawn to podiatry when he first shadowed a podiatrist and saw that patients would come in with pain and leave pain free. He takes great satisfaction in keeping people pain free, whether conservatively or surgically.
Dr. Wiederkehr completed his undergraduate studies at the Charter Oak State College in New Britain, Connecticut, and CUNY Queens College in New York City, subsequently earning his medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2017. He went on to complete a three-year surgical residency at Richmond University Medical Center, where he was trained in all aspects of podiatric medicine, including forefoot, rearfoot and ankle surgery, trauma, diabetic limb salvage, arthroscopy, wound care, pediatrics, and general podiatry. During his third and final year of residency, he served as chief resident. In this role, he managed the podiatric team, led weekly academics, was responsible for training junior residents and communicating with other specialties in a multi-disciplinary approach to medicine.
Dr. Wiederkehr is board qualified in foot surgery by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, New York State Podiatric Medical Association, and is affiliated with Richmond University Medical Center.
In his free time, Dr. Wiederkehr enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He tries to exercise when he can and loves music and reading. He strives to deliver the very best in patient care and is ready to help you put your best foot forward.
