Basma Elsawy, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine doctor specializing in geriatrics care at NY Specialty Clinics with two locations in the Marin Park and Sheepshead Bay neighborhoods of Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Elsawy provides comprehensive care to her patients, focusing on preventive health and managing chronic disease and obesity.
Dr. Elsawy achieved her medical degree at Tanta University of Medicine in Tanta, Egypt. She later relocated to the United States to complete her residency training in internal medicine at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.
Following this, Dr. Elsawy completed a geriatrics medicine fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, where she gained new skills in diagnosing, treating, and preventing health issues in older adults.
Taking a patient-centered approach to health care, Dr. Elsawy’s patients describe her as attentive, personable, and professional. She achieved board certification in internal medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds affiliations with Northwell Health-Staten Island University Hospital and Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, New York.
